This week marks the beginning of a brand new life for me, one that I've decided to embrace as I face my future.
Tomorrow I start a new job. For the better part of three years, I've been mostly unemployed. Needless to say, I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to go back to work.
This Saturday I'll move into a new place for my son and I. My home of the past six years is in the final stages of foreclosure and the time has come to move. I'll leave behind a beloved pet buried in the backyard and all the plans I had for the house itself. Facing this final good-bye has made me sad, but I have a new plan now and it makes me very happy.
Another piece of my new life is the reclaiming of my Self and with that, the reclaiming of my name. Since I received the divorce papers in the mail several months ago, I've wondered about my name. I've usually kept my married name after a divorce, but this time, that doesn't feel like what I want to do. Indeed, after some time considering, it was clear what my name is and should be: Kristin Centofante.
With that realization, I've moved this blog to a new URL to make the unofficial decision official. It truly is a new year for me!
